Hello from Ho Chi Minh!

I have arrived safely in Ho Chi Minh and am trying desperately to overcome my jet lag and sleep through the night! It is currently 11:15pm here on Monday evening. I woke up at 2 am this morning then napped in the afternoon. The flight was pretty painless. The first leg from New York to Frankfurt was hard only because of an adorably screaming baby that did not understand that he was supposed to sleep on the red eye! The long flight to Singapore (about 13 hours) was easy though. Good movies and an interesting neighbor.

Olivia and I are heading to Da Nang either late tomorrow afternoon or early Wednesday morning. We want to spend as much time with Kerry as possible since she is heading back to the states on Friday. We have been able to do a lot of brainstorming today and have some good ideas for projects we want to start/jump onto when we get to Da Nang on top of what we have already decided on. We are really excited as there is much to do in Da Nang. It is going to be a productive month. Anne Stuart will join us on Friday.

It is hot and humid here but remarkably comfortable. Its amazing how different it is coming here this time opposed to my first time. It feels strangely like home. The smells aren't as shocking and the hustle isn't as intimidating. I remembered correctly- I love this country. Its hard to describe the movement that is always present here. There is such a mix of everything; smells, sounds, textures. And so many people rushing through the streets on motor bikes jetting by you and missing your thigh by a centimeter. Its fantastic.

I will write more once we are situated in Da Nang, but here are a few photos. And now I am off to try to put myself on a far-east schedule!

Kerry!!
Reunited with sweet Olivia!
